FAQs

Why did the rules change?

Saban Brands wants to give every opportunity to any artists interested in submitting. By extending our deadline and not obtaining a guaranty option, we feel more artist will be inclined to join.

How old do you have to be to submit?

Age of majority (which is at least 18 years of age in most states in the US and in Canada, Mexico and the UK).

Can I submit more than one video?

No, one entry per person. If you’re a part of a team, that is your entry.

Will you confirm receipt of submission?

Due to the high volume of applicants, we are unable to provide that information.

What if my video has both live action and animation?

We are looking for animated shorts. The video needs to be fully animated.

What is a development deal?

A development deal with Saban Brands consists of you working with the development team on creating a potential new property for Saban Brands.

Do the animated shorts have to be based off of a Saban Brands property?

No. We will not select or promote any animated short that is based off of any property owned by Saban Brands.

If I am selected at a top 10 finalist, how do I promote my video?

Next to each video is a social media link for Facebook, Twitter, Email and LinkedIn. This will post a link directly to your video so your friends know which video is yours and they can support you if they wish!

What if I am a citizen of a country not participating in the contest, but I am a current resident of a county that is participating?

You need to be a current resident OR a citizen of a country that is participating. For example, if you are a citizen of Vietnam but live in the US, you are a current resident of the US and are eligible to submit.
